Original Cold War era Late 1950’s - Early 1960’s Soviet Union Banner. Beautifully chain stitching embroidered on silk, single sided with gold tassels, intended for indoor use with a sleeve for a pole.
Featuring the Soviet slogan;
Пролетарии всех стран, соединяйтесь!
which translates to “Proletarians of the world, Unite!”
The bottom text reads;
Победителю в социалистическом соревновании.
”To the Winner in Socialist Competition”
In the center is the fourth version of the State Emblem of The Soviet Union featuring 15 languages encompassing the Soviet Socialist Republic all reading “Proletarians of the world, Unite!” In their respective languages, on the left include; Turkmen, Tajik, Latvian, Lithuanian, Georgian, Uzbek, and Ukrainian. The right side includes; Estonian, Armenian, Kyrgyz, Moldovan Cyrillic, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, and Belarusian. And of course in the center of them at bottom is Russian.
