Whiskey, Six-Guns and Red Light Ladies: George Hand’s Saloon Diary, Tucson 1875-1878 by George O Hand, Edited by Neil Carmony. First Edition Hardcover with Protective Mylar Cover added. 

George O. Hand was born in Oneida County, New York, in 1830. He went west with the California gold rush in 1849 and served with the California Column for the Union cause in the Civil War.

After the war he settled in Tucson, Arizona, where he worked alternately as a but-cher, saloon keeper, and night watchman and custodian at the Pima County courthouse. He kept a personal diary during much of the adult portion of his life, up until two weeks before his death on May 4, 1887.
