Original 1960’s Flite Wear “Indian Orange” Test Pilot Suit, named and used by Boeing’s Vertol Division in the 1960’s.

Expertly crafted out of Wichita Kansas, this test pilot suit was made during the 1960s and used by Boeing’s Vertol Division in their top-of-the-line helicopters. Founded by Ed Land in 1959, Flite Wear is renowned for their production of NASA’s iconic flight suits and jackets from the days of the Apollo program and suits & jackets made by them are quite hard to come by. Despite being of a similar design to the standard K-2B suit, this particular suit is made of a heavier wool fabric for added durability. In a color known as “Indian Orange” it boasts a curved collar, adjustable waist snaps, zippered cuffs and ankles, a metal kneeboard clip covered with orange cotton material, and numerous zippered pockets with zippers made by Conmar.
