Original World War Two US Army Service Forces Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Patch.
As stated on the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry website, the Army Service Forces insignia was comprised of a blue five-pointed star, measuring 1 3/8 inches in diameter with one point facing upwards, set against a white background and bordered by red. The overall dimensions are 2 1/4 inches in diameter, with six inward curves defining the star. The design incorporates the red, white, and blue national colors of the United States. This patch was officially approved for wear by various divisions, including War Department Overhead, Services of Supply, Army Service Forces, and the Department of the Army, beginning in 1941 and extending through 1996.
