Original Border War era South African Named Webbing Kit Set.

British made Yoke, named to a South African Lt Voekers, with South African local made web pouches on a South African Pattern 61 Webbing Belt. This set comes as found, untouched.

During the Bush War, majority of Rhodesian Security Forces Infantry units used the Pattern 1961/64 webbing. This pattern is a modification of the British 1958 Pattern web equipment. The main feature of the equipment is the yoke which spreads the load over the shoulders. The waist belt is similar to the 1937 Pattern while the ammunition pouches, which are fastened to the belt with hooks, come as a left and right set. A pair of large 'kidney' pouches, used for carrying mess fins, water-bottles, rations, etc, is connected to the waist belt at the rear. A cape carrier is fastened below the kidney pouches for easy access to a cape or poncho. The equipment also has space for carrying a separate plastic water bottle and mug and an entrenching tool. The key differences between P61 from P64 were the colors. P61 was Brown/Khaki colored webbing and sometimes a combination of colors and pre 1964 date stamps, generally showing SADF U/M markings. It also featured Brass fittings with a blackened finish, twist side clasps on front pouches on early webbing, and non-covered canteen’s with just a center strap and the bottle exposed. P64 is Green colored webbing featuring post 1964 stampings generally showing SADF U/M and featuring metal plastic coated green fittings with no twists on the sides of front pouches and the canteen holders are full pouches with only the cap exposed.
