After World War Two, the United States worked towards rebuilding the war-weakened German Economy. This led to the revival of the Ludenschid factory, where it produced insignia for the Allies, created cast dies for GI's collar brass, and upgraded stamping presses. While there are some known examples of other allied Assmann made insignia, the primary beneficiary was the United States. Assmann was just one of the many companies that were "reopened" to supply insignia to the occupying forces.
