Original Spanish Civil War - World War Two Spanish Order of Military Merit “Orden al Mérito Militar” type 1 with Red Distinction issued in 1938-1939.
An enameled red Greek cross in bronze gilt, with obverse centre featuring an enameled blue, red and white Spanish coat of arms, with enameled white reverse centre depicting the golden letters “MM” (Military Merit), suspended by an unusual integral crown also in bronze gilt. Near Mint condition with its original box of issue. The Red Distinction indicates courage, actions, or service during armed conflicts or military operations that involve or may involve the use of armed forces.
