Original World War One Ottoman Empire - Imperial German Gallipoli Star Medal.

Harp Madalyasi, Instituted in 1915. In silvered-tomback, a five-pointed red enamelled star, each arm finished with ball finials, obverse center shows a raised crescent moon encircling the Tugra (cipher of Sultan Mehmed V), horizontal pinback marked with BB&Co (Berlin), measures 54.8 mm, weighs 27.7 grams, very fine condition. 

The Ottoman War Medal, also known as the Gallipoli Star, is a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V on 1 March 1915 for gallantry in battle. This decoration was awarded for the duration of World War I to Ottoman and other Central Powers troops, primarily in Ottoman areas of engagement.
