Original World War Two US Army M4 Bayonet intended for the M1 Carbine featuring a wooden M8A1 Scabbard and string.
Nicely marked U.S. M4 CAMILLUS on the hand guard. Underneath on the blade side is the U.S. Ordnance "Flaming Bomb.” The guard is the narrow version and not the post war wide version. The blade is in good condition, showing faithful use, and sharpening after arsenal, the tip of the blade is unfortunately broken off. The crossguard, handle, and pommel are all tight to the blade. Marked S 1 on top of pommel. The scabbard is a post war M8A1 NATO issued replacement, and includes a string affixed to scabbard. Likely post war used by Norwegian Military as this was acquired from a museum collection in Norway.
